Gabriele Davanzante
Gabriele Davanzante was born in 1974 in Barletta, a town in Southern Italy along the Adriatic Sea.
His days were filled with school, soccer, beach, family, and of course big meals cooked by his mother and his nonna, each and every day.
Every day's meal included an appetizer of pasta, a plate of freshly caught seafood or grilled meat, a contorni such as vegetables or potatoes, and a plate full of fresh fruit to end the meal.
His mother and grandmother's passion for cooking was contagious, and eventually led him down the culinary path into the restaurant environment.
He started out working in and managing a restaurant in Florence for two years until his desire for traveling and exploring new places brought him to the U.S.A.
After traveling through and living briefly in New Jersey, New York City, Miami, and San Diego, he landed in San Francisco. There, he worked in and managed two restaurants, one in North Beach, another in Pacific Heights.
After a few years of managing successful restaurants, Gabriele, his wife Amy who also had a decade of previous restaurant experience throughout the United States, and their daughter Liliana decided to move to Alamo, CA to take on a restaurant of their own.
Ristorante Forli and the community of Alamo proved to be a blessing, as strangers instantly transformed into family and friends.
The growing success measured by the happiness of the people who spend time in Forli is the result of a lot of hard work, a lot of fun, the help from a wonderful partner, Russ Belleci, the help from the great people who work at Forli, and of course all of the great people who come in to the restaurant to have fun and eat well!
